District Named Gold Level Recipient by AHA

San Diego Unified Receives Gold Level Recognition from American Heart Association
Posted on 12/03/2021
On Thursday, December 2, the American Heart Association recognized San Diego Unified as having achieved the nonprofit organization’s highest level of workplace health and well-being.

The Gold Level recognition of the Workplace Health Achievement Index uses scientific, evidenced-informed metrics which identify organizations that have taken significant steps to build a culture of health and well-being for their workforce.

The framework of the Workplace Health Achievement Index was built so organizations would continue to strive to improve the health of their workplace and their workforce from one year to the next.

The Index is a web-based scorecard that evaluates the overall quality and comprehensiveness of a company’s workplace health program through a combination of best practices and a snapshot of a company’s aggregate employee heart health.

“We are proud to achieve this recognition from the American Heart Association for prioritizing the health and well-being of our employees,” said San Diego Unified Wellness Program Supervisor Kate McDevitt. “San Diego Unified remains committed to supporting the physical and mental well-being of our workforce, promoting professional and personal growth.”

San Diego Unified was one of more than 450 organizations nationwide that completed the index assessment this year, evaluating the period from July 31, 2020, to June 30, 2021. The district also received gold recognition last year.
